Oaks Artisan - Our Story
Three Sisters. Charlotte, Emma and Amelia.
Our team is made up of three sisters. We have one in-house chocolatier and all three of us bake. Baking and chocolate has always been something that we have enjoyed from such a small age. We are all self-taught bakers and created our small business during the lockdown in 2020.
So first things first, let me introduce us…

Charlotte Robertson | Marketing & Design / Baker
The eldest of the three sisters, Charlotte oversees all of our branding and marketing from photography, product labelling and packaging to web design and our online shop.
Emma Connelly | Product Developer / Baker
Middle sister Emma, develops and refines all of our baking recipes and works closely with Amelia to create the most delicious treats.
Amelia Strong | Head Baker & Chocolatier
The youngest of the sisters, Amelia is our head baker at Oaks Artisan. After training at the award winning Slattery Patissier & Chocolatiers in Manchester, she has also become our in-house chocolatier, hand making all our delicious chocolates.
Our Journey So Far
Our journey began back in 2013 when our family set up a rare breed chicken farm in Lymm, Cheshire. Over the years, with the development of the farm and the ever growing flock of birds, we had great access to plenty of the freshest, tastiest eggs and what better to do with them than bake?! We decided to utilise all of the ‘wonky’ shaped eggs or the ones that were too small or big to sell and use them in our tasty recipes. Nothing goes to waste on the farm!
We started producing small batches of baked goods, promoted them on social media and began selling them online directly to our customers. After such a positive response, great feedback and a demand for more, we decided to start stocking and selling all our baked goods through our Shepherd’s Hut Farm Shop at Higher Oak Farm. This made our baked goods available 24/7 for our local customers. Perfect for those late night sweet cravings!
After a year of baking, we decided to expand our range and delve into the world of chocolate.
Chocolate has always had a special place in my heart and something that i’m very passionate about. (Self-confessed chocoholic over here!) After training at the award winning Slattery Patissier & Chocolatiers in Manchester, we officially launched Oaks Artisan Chocolate. After endless hours of taste tasting and product development we have now created a select but special range of chocolates.
After 2 years of trading as Higher Oak Bakery, we decided to bring our brands together and re-brand as ‘Oaks Artisan’.
We now produce baked treats and hand crafted chocolates daily, all available to buy online, at our on-site shop (The Shepherd’s Hut) as well as from our official wholesale stockists.
